Stella

It was a typical day for Stella, the lead hunter of Solare.
She'd woken up to an unnaturally bright dawn, the slowly rising sun warming her fur. Her tag swung back and forth slightly, and Stella clawed at it out of pure frustration. Her fur bristled as she thought of the vicious humans, in their long white lab coats, holding syringes and clipboards. Stella hated them. They had tested on her, on her family, on her fellow pack members.. And then they just dumped them here. On the island of Solare.
It wasn't a terrible life here. They could roam freely around their island, and their prey, though nearly as big as they, didn't dare challenge them to a fight. With the exception of that one hunting trip, the one that had resulted in the death of the former Alpha, the former Second In-Command, her father, but left her with only a scar to remember it by.
Speaking of Second In-Command's.. Segugio. Her object of affection. Or obsession. Either way. He would never notice her, though, never. He saw her only as the lead hunter, the one he needed to go to organize hunts. He saw her only as not even a friend, but a younger sister. Someone he could talk to, surely, someone he could love, but not in the way Stella loved him.
Her heart twisted, metaphorically, not physically. Probably. Then again, it was hard to tell, especially with such a fragile and pain-inflicting emotion such as love.
...
Fuoco

He'd arranged the herb stock, only to rearrange them and rearrange them and rearrange them, over and over again. He couldn't help it. His pack had decided to swim across the short couple of miles to the next island, the island of Solare, to see if there was any form of life on it. Fuoco had predicted that there would be large feline prey, such as they had on their own island, but nothing more, and of course, nobody listened. And what worried him the most about their trip to the next island was not whether or not they'd actually find the life they were looking for, but the possible injuries. For what if there was an unknown type of animal, and one of the members of the expedition got attacked, and he didn't know how to heal it? Or he didn't have the right kind of herbs?
He rearranged the various healing plants, yet again, with great care. Though he twitched nervously, he was extremely careful and delicate with the herbs, who knew, one could be the difference between life and death.
He had a terrible, terrible feeling about this expedition to the other island. For all they knew, there was something menacing waiting for them there. He'd informed them of this, the few Mutts that were swimming the couple miles to the other island, but they just humiliated him by laughing, and so he'd holed himself up in his den.
Just like always, nobody had listened, just laughed and called him crazy. Just like always.

Segugio

Segugio sighed, yawning in his sleep. He rolled over onto his back, when suddenly the bright, early morning sun was shining straight in his eyes. The brute scrambled up sleepily, his eyes fluttering open and squinting in the unuasally bright morning daylight. He stumbled out of his den, blinking rapidly. He shook remaining debris out of his stringy brown fur lazily. The dew on the morning grass refreshed his paw pads nicely as he padded out of his Second in Command den, and Seg gave a little half smile to himself. The Mutt found a nice place in the newly risen sun to lay down and stare at the forest, memories swirling around in his head.
"Run, Segugio, run!" His mother yowled. The small young pup stumbled out of the cave they called home, not sure on what to do. A loud gunshot sound, not far from where the pup was. Frightened, Segugio stumbled, half-awake toward the forest, as fast as his little paws could take him. He tumbled through the undergrowth of the thick forest, scared and tired. He could barely see ahead of him, and brambles stuck to his fur.
"Mama! Papa!" He barked feebly when another human gun sounded, echoing in Seg's ears, and then a familar yowl. Segugio cringed, yelping when his paws suddenly gave away under him, and the little pup tumbled down the into a small ravine, far from his dead parents bodies forever.

Segugio shook his head, trying to forget about that memory quickly. He wasn't going to think of back home, not when he was perfectly happy in Solare pack. The second in command turned away from the forest sadly, resting his head on his paws instead, and staring back at the dens blankly. His dark green eyes focused on something in camp, but he wasn't able to tell what it was at the moment, and he didn't care. He was just taking time to think, like he always did in the early mornings while the other wolves were still waking up.

Incerto

The days for Incerto seemed to be blending together nowadays, as if he had traveled forward in time in the blink of an eye. Life for him just became boring, for although pondering is a fine time-killer, not even a wolf like Incerto could stay sane enough to only do it. As much as he hated to admit it to himself, he had to make social contact. He supposed the days were one in the same because he had been staying in his den for a while, and guessed that he had forgotten to leave. Incerto stared at the exit to his den, the light almost acting like a bright curtain to the outside world. Putting one paw in front of the other, he gulped for the thought of what was to happen.
Reaching his goal, Incerto looked around to find a wolf worthy of conversation. A few athletic ones were spotted by his almost blind eyes from the sun, but he knew they would just mock him for his strength, or lack thereof. However, he did find one, who seemed to be in a more appropriate setting. The medicine wolf was arranging herbs when Incerto saw him, and thought that since he was keeping in his place and was in the shade, what could stop me from having a conversation with him? He slowly walked along the edge of the wolf's den before laying down on the other side of him, the only thing in between them being the herbs.

Stella

Stella watched the brute emerge from his sleepily, then pick a spot to sit down and bask in the warm sunshine. Her eyes lingered on him for a moment, taking in the way the sunlight dappled on his thin brown fur. His eyes wandered over the camp as he curled up, and Stella looked down when his eyes seemed to stop at her. He wasn't looking at her to look at her, though, she was probably just to far away to be seen clearly and he was trying to make out who she was.
Stella sighed, getting up and starting toward the spot where Segugio lay, his expression thoughtful as he surveyed the camp. Suddenly, she became very self-conscious, but tried to brush it off. It worked. Kind of.
"H-hey, Seg," Stella greeted him cheerful, cursing herself mentally for her voice catching, resulting in a stutter. It sounded like she was a nervous wreck, which yeah, she kind of was, but she didn't want him to know that! Stella nearly gave an exasperated sigh, but instead sat down next to him, smiling cheerfully.
...
Fuoco

Fuoco was rearranging the stock of herbs when the Second In-Command of his pack, Incerto, wandered over and sat down nearby, watching him. Incerto.. Fuoco honestly didn't have an opinion on him, only that he kind of scared him. Incerto seemed like the kind that was quiet but could kill with a single blow.
"Good morning, Incerto," Fuoco murmured politely, his voice muffled as he set a bundle of herbs back into it's appropriate place in the stores of herbs. He hated being disorganized, absolutely loathed it. He turned back to the brute, and sat, curling his tail neatly around his paws, "Is there something specific you needed, or wanted to talk about?" Fuoco asked, flicking his ears and cocked his head curiously at the slightly older brute.

Incerto

"Morning," Incerto muttered as he analyzed his accomplice. Obviously one of the earlier experiments (He could never forget about those), Fuoco seemed to be in good shape. The only flaw he could find with the medicine wolf was the fact that he seemed to be obsessed with organization, hating to see a tail out of place. This was a good thing and a bad thing. Good because he could keep wolves in order if he happened to become higher in power, but bad because his obsession would probably keep him distracted from more important things, like defending the pack if it were to ever be under such things. He shook his head back into reality when Fuoco spoke to him.
"Erm, n-no, of course not. I just... wanted to, uhm, talk," Incerto muttered as he looked at Fuoco. He probably had no idea of the whereabouts of the second-in-command. Then again, it could be that they were both in the same predicament; being forced to stay in there own dens, only Fuoco probably had wolves coming in to have him heal them. He silently rolled his eyes, thinking of the naivete of the athletic wolves, the fact that they just had to prove their physical ability at ever possible moment. Idiots.

Segugio

Segugio sat up slowly and carefully when he saw the unknown figure coming closer toward him, confused for a moment. Then he noticed it was just Stella, the Lead hunter of Solare. He relaxed slightly and nodded at her when she came to sit beside him.
"Hey, kid." He greeted happily. He saw Stella as a sister more than anything. The brute never had one, and Stella often came over to talk to him, which, every now and then, Segugio found odd. He had a feeling Stella didn't like that much, that she was just a sister to him, but the tan wolf didn't really care. Seg didn't seem to notice that she stuttered slightly when she greeted him. He just glanced dreamily back out into the forest, laying down again casually. He yawned, his stomach rumbling slightly. The second in command glanced back up at Stella momentarily, just to make sure she was still there. "Do you think you could organize a hunting trip?" He asked her, his voice slightly far off and unfocused, like he was thinking of something much more important. He shook his pelt again boredly, waiting patiently for her answer. The sun was shining back in Seg's eyes again, and he sat back up, his brown stomach wet from the morning grass. The second in command wrapped his overly fluffy tail around his paws and flicked his ears. His mind wandered off from camp, and he started to daydream about home again, what it was like as a normal wolf, the sunny, warm forests and the faint sounds of the oceans. There was sun and ocean here, but it wasn't as great as he remembered from back then.

Stella

Stella's jaw went taut as he greeted her. His greetings generally varied, but the one consistency that Stella could always count on was her nickname, "kid". Her fur bristled, not that he would notice, he was busy, she could tell. He had this blank expression whenever he got, what was the word, thoughtful? Stella wondered what he thought about often, but never asked. It seemed like far too personal of a question, besides, what if he was thinking something horrific, as she often did? Her thoughts drifted to her father's death, the bloody mangled carcass, lying limp on debris on another part of the island. Stella shook the thought off, when he asked her a question.
"Can you organize a hunting trip?" Stella shifted her weight slightly, trying to cover up her disappointment. He never asked to go hunting with her, of course, only for her to organize a trip. And of course he asked her to, she was the lead hunter, it was her job.
Stella found herself nodding, "Sure, Seg," Her voice had a false note to it, but he had to have been used to that by now, and probably didn't even notice. If he'd ever noticed anything about her, at all. Stella hesitated.
"We could go hunting?" Stella suggested boldly, before mumbling as an afterthought, "Because, you know, not many others are awake, and all," Stella tripped over her words again, avoiding his gaze. Not that he'd actually look at her, he never did, not that she'd noticed, that the way she wanted, anyways.
...
Fuoco

Fuoco watched Incerto, he almost seemed to analyze him. He waiting for him to speak by looking down, inspecting his mangled-looking paw, then looking back up when the brute finally spoke. He stuttered that he just wanted to talk.
He gave a curt nod, "About anything in particular?" Fuoco inquired. He wasn't great at smalltalk, in fact, he was terrible at it. He liked being straightforward and to the point. And if Incerto had no point, Fuoco would simply go back to rearranging his herbs.

Incerto

"Unfortunately not," Incerto replied, "Just a general conversation. How are you?" The word pained him as he said them, but he showed no pain. He tried to give off a more positive energy instead of the neutral, vegetable-ness state when he was in his den. He looked around Fuoco's den to observe something, but after finding nothing far too special about it, he decided to just state the obvious.
"You seem to, erm, enjoy organizing, huh?" He muttered hesitantly. Perhaps it was not the best starter, but there had to have been something, right?

Fuoco

Fuoco was hardly listening to the other brute, before the brute commented on the fact that he liked organizing. Of course he organized, he had to, if he didn't, the pack would die off and it would be all his fault because he'd misplaced a herb, or something similar.
"I.. I guess you could say that," Fuoco chose his words carefully, as if trying to not offend the bigger, and obviously stronger, brute. "I have to, one thing out of place could be the difference between life and death, you see," He murmured, almost to himself.
